This spring many homeowners will be facing the hard decision of replacing their LP siding with a new type of siding. Contractors offer several types of siding for homeowners such as Hardie Plank by James Hardie, Vinyl Siding and T-111 siding just to name a few. Hardie Plank is an all time favorite in the Pacific Northwest for replacing failing LP siding due to rot at the edges or delamination. If your home has LP siding and if the siding is failing than you know what I am talking about. Not only does the siding fail but it is ugly looking once it has failed. The edges become swollen and it becomes darkened with mold since it is absorbing lot’s of moisture. Sometimes even various weeks, fungus and grasses may grow out of or between the crevices of the siding. Yuck! Ugly!
In making their decision to replace siding homeowners also need to consider if it is time to replace their home’s roof and windows at the same time as their siding is being replaced. A good general contractor can facilitate this entire project for the homeower. Not every home needs a new roof or new windows so it may be the home only needs new siding.
