After blaze water damage sets in and leaves a family without a home
A three alarm fire in Gibsonia, PA resulted in half fire damage and complete smoke and water damage leaving the owners, without a lasting dwelling.
According to the Chief of the Fire Department, Howard Towslee, it is believed a trash can containing ashes that was left on a covered entrance was the cause of the fire. However, that information has yet to be confirmed, Towslee said.
The fire took approximately an hour to put out, Towslee said, and the damage was mostly limited to two rooms one upstairs and one downstairs.
The Dorset, Manchester and Danby Fire Departments were also on the scene backing up the anterior crews, Towslee said.
When Helen Harris awoke to find her house on fire, she said she was basically [in] disbelief.
There is always a certain intensity of fear but we were able to spray water until the fire department came, the homeowner said.
So keep in mind that when you throw things away make sure they are not burning or have any embers in them.
